Our Location

The Dogana Vecchia Hotel is located within the “no traffic zone” (ZTL is a restricted traffic area in Italy. They help protect historic city centres from excessive traffic) operative from Monday to Friday, from 7.30 AM to 10.30 AM, and in the public transport reserved zones every day from 7 AM to 8 PM. Guests who are interested in parking in our parking lot should fill out a self-declaration form in order to obtain exemption from the ZTL, and give it to the reception desk. Please, attach Your ID to the form.

There are different types of exemptions provided to our guests:

CHECK-IN DAY: – exclusively during the check-in day, it is possible to pass only one time through all the ZTL gates controlled by video surveillance, including the public transport reserved zones, to reach our hotel.

DURING THE STAY: it is possible to pass only through ZTL gates number 21 (Via Edigi intersection with Piazza della Repubblica) and number 24 (Via San Domenico intersection with Corso Valdocco). Furthermore, during these days, it is forbidden to pass through the public transport reserved zones (Via Milano, Via XX Settembre and Via Pietro Micca) from 7 AM to 8 PM, which are passable only from 8 PM to the 7 AM of the following day.

CHECK-OUT DAY: PLEASE, refer to the traffic restrictions in the “no traffic zone” highlighted above.

N.B.:     Exemption cannot be requested for Euro 0, 1, 2 Petrol and Diesel and Euro 0 LPG vehicles.

Exemptions for vehicles with more than 8 seats (excluding the driver) and for those rented with a driver, included in categories M1, M2 and M3, should be requested by the haulage company or by the renter of the vehicle.

The Reception desk only provides the copy of the form to our guests and submits the filled form to Gtt, but without checking the correctness of the entered data.

In the following sections, some possible solutions to reach the Hotel by car are provided.

Route 1

Coming from the highways, take the beltline and then take the exit to Regina Margherita. Follow Corso Regina Margherita towards the city centre and once You reach the Rondò della Forca turn right to Corso Valdocco. Then follow Corso Valdocco to the traffic light; reached this point, turn left to Via San Domenico and continue straight to reach Via Milano. Now, turn right and then immediately right again to Via Corte d’Appello. You reach the Hotel.

Route 2

Coming from the highways, take the beltline and then take the exit to Regina Margherita. Follow Corso Regina Margherita towards the Centro direction, and once You reach the Rondò della Forca take the roadway along the right side of Corso Regina Margherita and go to Piazza della Repubblica. Turn right to Via Milano and then turn again right to Via Corte d’Appello. You reach the Hotel.

Route 3

Coming from the south (Corso Unità d’Italia), continue along Corso Massimo D’Azeglio to the intersection with Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Turn left and continue straight along this road to Via Amedeo Avogadro. Turn right to Corso Siccardi and then turn left to Via della Consolata. Straight on this road to the intersection with Via San Domenico. Keep going straight to the Via Milano intersection. At this point, turn right and then immediately right again to Via Corte d’Appello. You reach the Hotel.

Route 4

Coming from the Southern bypass, take the exit to Corso Unione Sovietica and go straight along the way until You can find to Your left the exit for Corso Galileo Ferraris, take it; continue straight to the Vittorio Emanuele II traffic circle and take the second exit to continue along Corso Galileo Ferraris to the intersection with Via Cernaia; then continue straight following Corso Giuseppe Siccardi. Go straight to the traffic circle of Piazza Savoia and take the exit to Via della Consolata. Then turn right to Via San Domenico and go straight to the intersection with Via Milano; turn left and then turn right to Via Corte d’Appello. You reach the Hotel.

Route 5

Coming from the east of the city (namely, from the Po River) take the Regina Margherita bridge and continue straight on Corso Regina Margherita towards the Centro direction. Once you arrived to Piazza della Repubblica, at the intersection with Via Milano, turn left to Via Pietro Egidi and then turn left again to Via della Basilica. At this point, turn right to Via Porta Palatina and then turn right again to Via Corte d’Appello. You reached the Hotel.

How to reach us by public bus

The most convenient public transport lines to reach the Hotel are:

From Porta Nuova Station to the Hotel:

  • Tram line 4 – from Vittorio Emanuele II stop, to Garibaldi stop;
  • Bus lines 11, 52, 57, 58 – from Porta Nuova stop, to Garibaldi stop.

From the Hotel to Porta Nuova Station:

  • Tram line 4 and bus line 11 – from Corte d’Appello stop to Porta Nuova stop.

From Porta Susa Station (Corso Bolzano side) to the Hotel:

  • Tram line 13 (three minutes away) – from XVIII Dicembre stop, to Bertola stop (six minutes away);
  • Bus lines Star 2 – from Bolzano Cap stop, to Corte d’Appello stop;
  • Bus lines 19, 51, 57 – from Porta Susa, (Corso Bolzano side) stop, to Garibaldi stop.

 From the Hotel to Porta Susa Station:

  • Bus lines 19, 51, 57 – from Corte d’Appello stop, to Bolzano Cap stop.
  • Bus line Star 2 – from Milano stop, to   Bolzano Cap stop.     

Transit regulation for private tourist buses: You should check the section below and send the form with the needed attachments to the Gtt Company, in order to regulate the transit to reach the Hotel.

It is also possible to book a reserved area, not guarded, in front of the Hotel where parking the touristic bus.

In the following sections, some possible solutions to reach the Hotel by bus are provided.

From the West

Coming from Corso Regina Margherita ignore the underpass corresponding to Via della Consolata and get into the special bus lane on the right. Once you reach Piazza della Repubblica turn right to Via Milano and then turn right again to Via Corte d’Appello.

From the North

Coming from Corso Giulio Cesare, pass through Piazza della Repubblica, go straight along Via Milano and at the intersection with Via Corte d’Appello turn right.

From the East

Coming from Corso Unità d’Italia, go straight along Corso Massimo d’Azeglio. At the intersection with Corso Vittorio Emanuele II turn left. Continue along this way, towards Porta Nuova Station and once you reach the station turn right to Via XX Settembre, going straight to the Cathedral. At that point, turn left to Via 4 Marzo, and get into Via Corte d’Appello crossing Via Milano.

From the South

Coming from Corso Unione Sovietica go to Corso Turati then Via Sacchi and reach Via XX Settembre. Go straight along Via XX Settembre to the Cathedral, turn left to Via 4 Marzo, and get into Via Corte d’Appello crossing Via Milano
