Hotel Dogana Vecchia

With reference to the Touring Club magazine issued last December 2015, we proudly announce the Hotel Dogana Vecchia is an official member of Dimore d'Epoca starting from January 2016. This is an excellent achievement for those who worked in the past and work nowadays with total commitment in our hotel.

This desired goal is the result of a very hard work of maintenance and renovation of the building, as our Hotel is the most antique in the whole city of Turin.
Our membership within Dimore d'Epoca is a precious symbolic added value that the Hotel Dogana Vecchia give all his guests as a gift, along with a continuous and renewed promise for improvement and an hospitality offer in line with

the modern hotel standards.
Some of our rooms boast an authentic coffered ceilings with great value, while in other rooms it is possible to admire real vaulted ceilings, clearly visible in the main entrance and in the Amadeus hall. Both styles belongs to the beginning of 18th century, when the body of the main building was built.

The furniture in the Superior and the Deluxe Rooms was also selected carefully, in order to convey a subtle atmosphere of antiquity and at the same time a perception of openness and lightness.

The very central position of the Hotel Dogana Vecchia gives our guests the opportunity to visit the city by walking, starting from the "Quadrilatero Romano" that is the main part of the hystorical centre in Turin.
In fact it takes just three min.

to reach the Roayl Museum main entrance, the area that holds some of the great historical attractions like: Palazzo Reale ancient home of Savoia's kingdom, the Royal Armory; Palazzo Chiablese; The Cathedral, main church entitled to S. Giovanni Battista, and the nearby Porte Palatine.

It takes a few minute to reach the main square of Turin, "Piazza Castello", which holds in his center the "Palazzo Madama" castle, that was the home of Acaja's princes.
The city of Turin offers even more attractions within a walking distance from the

Hotel Dogana Vecchia; the most famous is the Egyptian Museum, renovated in the 2015, the second most important museum of Egyptian archaeology in the world after the one in Cairo.

From Piazza Castello it is possible to walk along Via Po with arcades that stretch as far as Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the largest square with arcades in whole Europe; from there you can admire a wonderfull landscape view on the famous Church "Gran Madre di Dio" and the surrounding hills.

At this stage you certainly cannot miss the Landmark of Turin, Mole Antonelliana, which stands out against the surrounding buildings with charm and lightness, that is also the location of Cinema's museum.

Nearby the Mole Antonelliana and Via Po it's worth pointing out the recent opening of Italian Centre of Photography called Camera.
